In recent years our culture has become mired in uncertainty and young people are often filled with anxiety and loneliness. As this generation faces an unknown future the need to encounter the One who created us and knows us is vital. Our mission is to help young people experience life change through the power of the Gospel and discipleship.

During the COVID pandemic our ministries on and off campus have been negatively impacted through closures and shut downs outside of our control. Through careful fiscal management and adjustments we were able to navigate this time. The challenge now is to continue moving forward and pivot out of this difficult season. Funds are needed to ensure we meet the needs of our camp and Bible Institute guests, students and staff. We are trusting God to provide $170,000 by June of 2024 to assist us in meeting these needs.

Our Camp and Bible Institute programs are aimed at reaching people of all economic means. In many cases we provide discounts and scholarships to families to assist them in sending their camper or student to hear and study the Word of God. For the 2023-24 year we are asking God to provide $75,000 to fund these discounts and scholarships.

Campus Improvement Projects

Project: Emergency Generators Project

Evaluated Cost: $75,000 CAD

Our property is located in the “snow belt” region of northern Grey County, Ontario, where we experience frequent ice and snowstorms. We frequently have 160 plus campers, students and staff on our campus. Emergency power is needed for heating, water and sewer systems, cooking and lighting during a power outage. This generator will help us be more responsible and effective, as we evangelize and disciple Canadian youth for the glory of Christ.

To continue to be effective in this mission we need to be able to provide reasonable care for all individuals on our property during an emergency power failure. It is important for the parents of students and campers to know that their young person will be well cared for during such an emergency. Your generous financial investment into this project will help Word of Life effectively enable true biblical life change in many young Canadians, to the glory of Christ.

Ministry Vehicle Project

Cost: $24,000

Project: Extension Rooms

Cost: $6,000

Every year our ministry struggles to meet accommodation needs for guests- whether it be the parents of a student, an alumnus passing through town, or a place to accommodate volunteers. Therefore, we are seeking God’s provision that will allow us to renovate our current “Extension Rooms” to be adequate and updated accommodations that will properly meet these demands. We will need to purchase drywall, paint, new bathroom counter tops, sinks, and furniture.

Project: Gym Flooring

Cost: $8,000

For over 40 years the gym on our property has seen many roller-skating rallies, messages, sporting tournaments, winter and summer camps and music functions all year round. Our floor has held up well, but we want to be diligent in seeing it reach another 40 years.

Project: Uganda Pastors Project

Project: Uganda Caliber Trip

Word of Life Uganda has been operating a training program for local pastors for several years. This program provides biblical training and teaching for pastors to take back to their congregations and build their knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ.

Caliber Projects has been supporting the Uganda Pastors Project the past couple of years monetarily and now feel called to take a group of workers to the mission field to serve in Uganda in a practical way. Our goal is to raise funds to build a caretaker’s house for the Regional Pastoral Training Center in Kayunga and when in Uganda be a part of the construction team to do the actual work and serve the local community while we are there.

Caliber Projects is a construction and development company that puts people first. Caliber’s core purpose is building people and process. We believe that God has given us many blessings and resources and has called us to a higher purpose to serve Him in the local and international mission field.

We believe this mission trip to Uganda aligns with living out our just cause of “a world of inspired people who have a deep desire to serve and build others to affect generational change in their communities.”
