WOLBI Worship

Our very own Word of Life Bible Institute students have been preparing to lead us in worship. They have the desire to use their musical abilities to cultivate praise and point others to Jesus.

TEACHING Topic

Being a young adult can often feel like you are caught in the middle. In these years, we are living in so many different stages of life. From college student to working professional, single or married or growing a family, there no longer exists a clear course for life as we have been accustomed to having in our formative years.

As young adults, we are learning to navigate these different walks of life while adjusting to our changing community. Friends move away for college, you change to a new job, you try to get connected to your local church, and your community is ever-changing, like it has a revolving door. In this season of life, it can be difficult to stay connected and have the Christian community we all long for and require as believers.

We will be diving into what God’s Word has to say about our need for communion with God and with others, and how we can practically build a biblical community among young people, no matter our walk of life. Together, we will also create a space for discussion on how, as young leaders in our churches and communities, we can best minister to our greater community (whether that be children or youth ministries) to intentionally make disciples and help each person we minister to take their next steps with Jesus.

SPEAKERS

Doug Reider

Doug received his B.S. in Electrical  Engineering before completing his M.Div. at Capital Bible Seminary. He met his wife, Sue, at the Word of Life main headquarters in New York and they were soon married. Doug joined the staff of Word of Life, also enrolling as a student in the Missions program. Upon completion he was appointed as a missionary to Poland after the arrival of their son (Samuel).

Just a few short years later, which included the birth of their other son (Daniel), the Reiders were faced with the potential of leaving Poland. At that point Word of Life Canada was looking to establish an English Bible Institute and Doug was approached to be involved. The Reiders moved to Ontario and began the work of establishing a Bible Institute as an extension of the New York campus.

Their ministry in Canada continues to grow and Doug and Sue faithfully train young men and women in the Word of God, in faith and maturity. Doug is currently serving as the Associate Academic Dean and Resident Associate Professor of Theology.

Jonathan Ward

Jonathan is a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute, Baptist Bible Seminary, and holds a Master of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary. He has served with Word of Life Canada since 1997 and joined the Bible Institute team in 2006 with his wife Melissa.

Jonathan is serving as the Dean of Students and the Associate Professor of Bible & Theology at the Owen Sound Campus of the Word of Life Bible Institute. He is also currently assisting the camping ministry as Interim Camp Director.
